Anna Leon

I am a dance historian by training, working as a researcher at the intersection of dance history, cultural history, critical theory and aesthetics, and as a curator between discursive, embodied and performative practices. The principles guiding my work are constant learning and unlearning, pluralising partial perspectives, interrogating the impacts of format on thought and ideas, negotiating strategic choices within ethical positionings, and exploring the ethical, political, affective, sensorial, epistemic impacts of aesthetics.

I am currently employed as post-doctoral researcher at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

A three-day theory-and-more festival on bodily fluids as political substances.
